DeskDodes sells garden buildings and lawn equipment — sheds, gazebos, pergolas, swing sets and mowers, shipped free across the United States.

Different products, one recurring problem: almost everything that goes wrong with a garden purchase is about the ground it stands on or the space around it. A shed on an uneven base won't close. A gazebo that isn't anchored moves in wind. A mower that won't fit the side gate never reaches the lawn. We'd rather sort that out with you before you order than after the pallet arrives.

Our story

We started with lawn mowers, because that's where the gap was most obvious: machines arriving part-built with a bag of hardware, and a call centre that had never held a spark plug when something didn't start. We fixed that by assembling and test-starting every machine before it shipped.

The same thinking took us into garden buildings. A shed, a gazebo, a pergola and a swing set are all bought the same way — someone measures a patch of garden, guesses, and hopes. Most of the frustration sits in that guess, not in the product. So we sell fewer, better-chosen items and put the effort into helping people pick the right size and prepare the right base.

New York based, shipping nationwide

We're in Springfield Gardens, New York. Smaller items go out by courier; larger structures and machines travel by freight with a booked delivery window, because a shed kit doesn't fit in a parcel van.

Get people to the right size, on the right base, first time. Size and siting mistakes are the most expensive kind in this business — they can't be fixed by sending a replacement part, and they're almost always avoidable with one conversation before the order.

Our vision

To be the place someone comes back to for the next thing in their garden — the mower after the shed, the pergola after the gazebo. That only happens if the first purchase was the right one and the advice was straight.

Sheds
Storage for tools and bikes, up to workshop sizes you can move around in. The base matters more than the shed — ask us before you order.
Gazebos
Solid roof, so you can sit outside in a shower. Needs a level base and proper anchoring — a roof that size catches wind.
Pergolas
Open slats for dappled shade and a defined space. Freestanding or attached to the house, timber or low-maintenance aluminium.
Lawn mowers
Walk-behinds through to zero-turns. Assembled, oiled and test-started before they ship, so the first pull is the one that mows.
Swing sets & playsets
Frames, slides and platforms for the garden. The fall zone and surfacing underneath matter as much as the set itself.

If a smaller shed covers what you need, we'll say so. Oversold products come back as returns, and they come back expensive.

We'd rather spend ten minutes on your ground conditions than sell you something that racks out of square in its first winter.

Slopes, gate widths, freight access, permits. We raise the awkward question before you order, not after the truck is booked.
Built to last a decade
We favour products that can be maintained and repaired over ones that get replaced when one component fails.
Clear pricing
The price on the product page is the price you pay. No fee that appears at the last step of checkout.
Safety isn't an upsell
Anchoring, fall zones and slope limits get stated plainly on the page, not buried in a manual you read after the build.

Before and after the order

Getting the choice right

Every category here comes down to the same three measurements. Have them to hand and a ten-minute call usually settles it:

  • The space: the footprint you have, and the clearance around it
  • The ground: level or sloping, grass, paving or concrete
  • The access: the narrowest gate or driveway a delivery has to come through

That last one catches more people than anything else — for a mower and for a pallet of shed panels alike.

After it arrives

  • Missing parts: give us the order number and the part number from the manual and we'll send it
  • Damage in transit: note it on the delivery receipt, photograph it, and we handle the carrier claim
  • Maintenance: timber treatment, blade sharpening, seasonal checks — ask and we'll tell you what actually matters

Ask the awkward question

Will it fit through the gate. Does the ground need levelling first. Do I need a permit. How much clearance does a swing set really need behind it. These are the questions worth asking before you order, and they're the ones we'd rather you asked us than found out the hard way.

It also keeps us honest. It's difficult to oversell something to someone when you're the one who'll be talking them through the return.
