Choosing a mower? Have these three things

Deck width against lot size decides almost everything else. With these, we can usually narrow the whole range down to one machine in a single call:

  • The size of the lawn — acreage, or roughly how long it takes you now
  • The slope — flat, gentle, or a bank you currently mow sideways
  • The narrowest gate on the property, measured at its tightest point

That last one catches more people than anything else. A 30-inch deck is a great machine and a useless one if it can't reach the back garden.
